Geneva Chiropractor :: Dr. Nate Conroy
“I’ve always known I wanted to serve others.”
So I was on my way to medical school. My grandfather was a medical doctor and I was born and raised under the “traditional” medical model. That’s all my family and I knew. My last year of college, I had one of those life-changing conversations with a good friend of mine. He had also considered medical school, and as he inspired me, was inspired by someone to visit a chiropractic college at which he enrolled and began classes. Following his recommendation, I visited a local chiropractic college as well. Something in me felt right and I knew that this was the direction I wanted my life to head in. I enrolled immediately and began on a path that has continued to bless my life. Thank you Russ for inspiring me and pointing me in this direction! Chiropractic just makes good sense. It’s simple, it’s easy and it has helped millions upon millions to experience happier and healthier lives without drugs and without surgery!
A Chiropractic Education
After graduation from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I began classes at the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL. The curriculum was impressive, matching closely that of any medical school. The only fundamental difference was that in place of pharmacy classes were chiropractic adjusting classes. Instead of putting drugs and chemicals into the body and performing surgery to manage disease already present, chiropractic focuses on preventing disease in the first place. Of course, we’ll help you eliminate your pain and suffering, however, the focus is to prevent it from ever happening again!
On a Personal Note…
I have been practicing for about 15 years now, and loving it more everyday. Before The Chiropractic People, I practiced at a clinic in downtown Chicago. The suburbs started to look pretty good when we found out that my wife was pregnant with our first child, so we picked up and moved out this way to start The Chiropractic People.
I am married to a beautiful and incredible woman, my wife Tori. We have three fun and active boys at home now. They’re such a blessing in our life. When I am not in the office, I am spending time with my family. I also enjoy exercising at the local gym, sailing on Lake Michigan, playing my guitar, riding the beautiful bike trails in the area, reading a good book and watching a good show with my wife. I love to cook, especially when I can get my hands on a good recipe and some fresh organic meat and vegetables!
Personally, I get adjusted at least once a week. I am not in pain, I am not suffering from any chronic disease and I do not use any medication. I get adjusted preventatively to ensure that my body is working at maximum performance. Not 50%, not 75%, not 90% – but as close to 100% as I can! It’s nearly impossible to keep your spine and posture in proper alignment with the challenges and stresses put on a body in today’s day and age. Chiropractic care helps to balance the playing field. Research shows that the human body can live 80-120 years or more if everything is working properly. I intend to get as close to that as possible, and I am absolutely certain that without a healthy spine, fully functioning nervous system and healthy lifestyle choices that this is nearly impossible. If I knew then what I know now, I would have have had my spine checked at a much earlier age. That being said, I understand that this is not for everyone and that most people just want to feel better first. I meet you where you are at and work with you to go as far as you want to go.
Enough about me! How can we help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care? Give our Geneva practice a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health.
